Independence Day 2016

Here in the United States of America we celebrate Independence Day on July 4th every year. The thirteen American colonies actually broke free from the British impire on July 2, 1776 after a vote. There was then a Committee of five people who then wrote the Declaration of Independence. The committee consisted of John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Franklin, Roger Sherman, and Robert Livingston. On July 4th 1776 the Continental Congress declared the thirteen American colonies a brand new nation, the United States of America.

Isn't it awesome that breaking free from the British isn't the only thing we as Americans can break free from! We can also break free from the bondages of sin! We have been given the right to worship freely, why not use it??  Romans 6:16 says it like this,  Do you not know that when you offer yourselves as obedient slaves, you are slaves to the one you obey, whether you are slaves to sin leading to death, or to obedience leading to righteousness?

Romans 6:23 states this, For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

You see Jesus paid the final price at the cross for your salvation. Jesus said, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me (Revelation 3:20)."  Jesus wont stand there forever waiting, don't miss the opportunity to have him in your life. I pray that you receive Jesus Christ into your hearts on this holiday.

I wish everyone a great Independence Day 2016!
